University of Bridgeport
features ten varsity sports. Many of these sports feature a rich
tradition of winning and excellence.
UB
is a member of the New York Collegiate
Athletic Conference (NYCAC). The NYCAC is a 13 member conference
which includes: Adelphi University, University of Bridgeport,
Concordia College, Dowling College, LIU-C.W.Post, LIU-Southampton,
University of New Haven, New York Institute of Technology, Mercy
College, Molloy College, Philadelphia University, Saint Thomas
Aquinas, and Queens College.
Varsity
sports include men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross-country,
men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, women's gymnastics,
baseball and softball.
As an NCAA
Division II member, University of Bridgeport offers athletic
scholarships in the form of grants. These are given to student-athletes
with demonstrated ability in a sport. These student-athletes
must meet certain academic and eligibility requirements by the
NCAA.
