Exhibition class presents concepts to Exhibit Group Giltspur
May 2008 — Working with the NYC office of Exhibit Group Giltspur (aka EG), Professor Simon Shin and the UB Exhibit Design class worked on a project for LG Electronics. The project goal was to design a "New Generation Entertainment Show Booth Concept" for LG Electronics' annual international trade show in Las Vegas.
The student show booth concepts are to be used as part of the overall design process by Exhibit Group Giltspur and LG Electronics in their quest for the ultimate 100' x 300' x 60' exhibit of LG's new products.
Professors Shin and Kandalaft and all the students traveled to the NYC office of the Exhibit Group Giltspur to present the final concepts to Mihri Kim, Vice President of Design and other staff designers and executives.
Richard Yelle, Director of UB Design, commented, "The students faced a difficult challenge to design concepts for a 100' x 300' x 60' show booth that would have to be shipped in crates to Las Vegas and would only be up for four or five days. Professor Shin and students not only met the challenge, but one student was offered an internship on the spot by EG."
